Plant veggies in flower beds

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS - By JAMES WATSON

FOR most of us we buy our veggies - have you thought of putting in some veggies in your flower beds?

You just need to buy a punnet from the supermarket, then plant.

You will be surprised that in no time you will be able to eat - tomatoes, lettuces, radishes, just to mention a few.

There are numerous herbs you can choose from but basil, parsley and mint are a safe bet.

Have you thought putting in a lemon tree in the garden bed? It doesn’t take up much room to start with and as it grows you give room to expand.

The list of shrubs is enormous so visit a nursery and discuss your ideas with them.

Like the food and nourishment we give our bodies, The earth needs a different kind of nourishment.

A few items worth using on your soil are organic compost, mulch, fertilisers, manures and worm juice.

That might be a lot to think about but the first step is to buy that punnet of tomatoes.
