Jus­tice fund­ing

TWO vol­un­teers from the Wu­jal Wu­jal War­ranga Com­mu­nity Jus­tice Group have been recog­nised as among the state’s most out­stand­ing se­nior vol­un­teers. Lily Yougie and Doreen Ball were named re­cip­i­ents of the Premier’s Award for Queens­land Se­niors at a cer­e­mony at Par­lia­ment House in Bris­bane last Fri­day. “This award high­lights the fan­tas­tic work these jus­tice groups are do­ing,” Cook MP Ja­son O’Brien said. “Both the Moss­man and Wu­jal Wu­jal groups per­form a great ser­vice in try­ing to help peo­ple with the jus­tice sys­tem, and keep them on the straight path.” Mr Cook also an­nounced fund­ing for the two groups last Fri­day. The Moss­man El­ders Jus­tice Groups has been awarded $97,000, while the Wu­jal Wu­jal War­ranga Com­mu­nity Jus­tice Group has won $104,000.
