THE Mossman State High School social occasion of the year will take place this weekend.

Mr and Miss Mossman High 2010, a semi-formal event held annually at the school, is the culmination of a search for two outstanding young people to represent the school.

Year 11 coordinator Elliot Davidson said the night was a celebration traditions and youth, two of the community’s greatest assets.

“The night serves as a rite of passage for our students, a symbol and celebration of their transition into adulthood,” he said.

“Students are judged on a range of criteria including community involvement, conduct and dancing skills.”

Alan Carrington and Annie Rose were the 2009 winners of the event, which has been running for 21 years.
