Tips for trackside fashion

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - HOT PROPERTY -

WITH the racing carnival season upon us, many women are looking to enlist some professional help to spice up their look.

Divine Beauty owner Vicki Collinson said the days leading up to Cairns Amateurs was always a busy period for the salon.

“We do try to get clients to book in well in advance for that week,” she said.

“Everyone seems to have their fingers and toes done and also spray tans, those three are the most popular leading up to Amateurs.”

Ms Collinson said a de-stressing massage or antiaging facial were the most popular treatments among her female clients.

“It’s about what they can’t do at home and also for relaxation because everyone is so stressed,” she said.

“The anti-ageing facial is popular because everyone is concerned with sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles up here.” Only about 10 per cent of her clientele are men. “I don’t think men are educated enough up here that they can or maybe they’re not aware the treatments are for them as well,” she said.

“Most men are going to have a facial or a massage, they don’t dare to try a salt scrub or body wrap and they’re not so much into the waxing.”

Divine Beauty is located at Johnstone Rd, Mossman. The salon offers a range of beauty treatments including facials, waxing, spray tanning, tinting, massage, manicures and pedicures.
