Angus and Julia sell out

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - ENTERTAINMENT -

ANGUS and Julia Stone have clearly won many hearts across the Far North, returning to Cairns for their second sold-out show this year.

Tanks Arts Centre lined up a stellar afternoon of music in the open-air setting of Cairns Botanical Gardens last weekend.

Home-grown acts Jeremiah Johnson and The McMenamins entertained the locals, while the melodies of New-York based duo Luluc were enchanting. But there was one act the crowd had come to see.

Angus and Julia Stone took to the stage as the sun set to perform songs from their latest album Down the Way and debut album, A Book Like This.

Popular tracks such as Mango Trees, And The Boys and Hollywood were clear crowd favourites.

The show wrapped up with a beautiful encore performance of Private Lawns and Wasted.

If there’s a better way to spend a Sunday than sitting on a picnic blanket, sipping a glass of wine and listening to chilled tunes, I haven’t found it.
