Driver zero, tree three
A 20-year-old Cairns man lost control of his motor car on the Captain Cook Highway and struck a tree Saturday night at 11pm. When the man struck the tree, his vehicle bounced back onto the roadway into traffic which caused two other vehicles to collide. Two occupants of the man’s vehicle were taken to the Cairns hospital with moderate injuries. Police took a sample of blood of the male driver. Witnesses stated that the man was driving dangerously prior to the accident. Police are still investigating what happened.
