What’s the fuss about playing by the rules?

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FEEDBACK -

Dear Council,

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you for your hard work and remarkable service.

A few days ago we reported a tree that had fallen blocking our driveway & street. We live in Forest Creek and within 25 minutes of reporting it, it was cut and cleared...amazing.

We then had, what we were lead to believe by locals, the daunting task (that would take months we were told) of applying to council for a permit to remove high risk protected vegetation threatening our home.

Within a day of receiving the application we were contacted by the lovely Liz Leonard, an inspection was organised a mere three days later where I met the very informative and fair Gary Aylet and a permit granted a mere two days after that! I dont know what all the fuss is about. Everytime I do the right thing and apply for permits and deal with council nothing is ever a problem.
