A busy month with Tourism Awards, Annual General Meetings, Water Front Advisory group and Daintree Gateway meetings, Annual Reports and audits, But its not all administration, as the Challenge Cairns event continues to grow, support of the community will be paramount to its success. With live coverage of the event, signage of our region will be need to be prominent. X Factor UK, a show with over 19.7 million viewers, has finished filming with Danni Minogue, Natalie Imbruglia and contestants at Bali Hai. Master Chef UK has been in town this week filming and great footage of our region will go to 30 million viewers in the UK. OK Magazine released this weekend a feature on the stars of Vampire Diaries, a US series with a huge following, in Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation. TPDD has been supporting these activities heavily with great support from the industry. Now all we need now is Oprah and Bill Clinton, to top off some great destination awareness opportunities. The first round of promotional opportunities with the Challenge Event has gone out this week to our members, so give us a call if you missed out. The town is starting to fill for the eclipse and enquiries are building so consider your rate structures and offers for that period. The long awaited branding launch for our region is due this Friday. TQ in conjunction with TTNQ, with input from TPDD, have worked on this for many months and I am sure the outcome will be descriptive and emotive.
