Leu to the rescue for Buchan Point proposal
I WOULD like to say a big thank you to Julia Leu for saving Buchan Point from development.
By putting forward a motion to refuse the application of development on this site, she was able to preserve this natural area for at least another year.
Shame on the councillors who voted to allow the development.
They said they feared litigation from the developer.
If we have council members who can’t stand up to such threats, the future of our natural environment is at grave risk.
Thank goodness we have a councillor who has the guts to speak up.
It stands to reason she comes from our old Douglas shire where we know something about protecting our environment - not to mention standing up to bullies.
Good on you, Julia.
To the gathering of local folk who witnessed this event, could you please contact the Gazette and tell your side of the story because not many mates actually believe me.
Perhaps this time, someone got a “happy snap”?
The moral of the story is ... duh. a tourist theme park, but will enormously enhance the town to the benefit of all who live here, complementing the lifestyle we have chosen and offer to share with all our visitors.
Constant interference from self-interest groups and sensational press headlines only hinder the progress.
Please may we at least have the co-operation of the Gazette as we continue? turned an Illustrious Blue and there’s a lot of Manighar, he needs some Zavite hair removal cream,” I told him.
“Oh no, now he’s pulled out his Red Ruler to measure his Buccellati, yeah that’s what Campologists call them.” “What’s Mr Medici think,” Master asked. He can’t beleive it, he called his mate at the Monaco Consul and said: “Geez I thought we Once Were Wild but this has set a Precedence, O’Reilly’s had a Shoot Out you can see his Hol berg.”
The girl next to him, I think she’s a Descarado, said: “This could be Maluckyday, his crutch has a Profound Beauty and I should know I’m an Americain.
O’Reilly replies: "If I show you my Tokai Trick I’ll take you home tonight.”
She responds: “ So You Think do you?”
