Mossman Rocks and so do all the organisers
I REFER to the letter published in last week’s FNQ Independent and partly published in the Gazette written by Christine Price.
A number of details are flawed in this letter as is Christine’s statement that I “named” myself as “’the organiser” of Mossman Rocks.
It seems that as a result of attempting to pass on the many thanks due to all and sundry for staging this event, ( FNQ Independent November 4) I have been completely misconstrued.
If the esteemed FNQ editor ran with “organiser” instead of my advised “co-organiser” as the article signature, I do not think any point of misunderstanding could be made in any case, as an “organiser” is merely someone who is able to organise.
I would like to make it evidently clear that I was thanking other people and not myself.
Secondly, Ms Price’s statement that “Mossman Rocks was completely organised and established through the Mossman Community Centre”, is incorrect.
There is one entity who has not been officially acknowledged and is independent of the Mossman Community Centre and without whom Mossman Rocks most certainly would not have taken place.
This organisation initiated and facilitated contact/liaison locally in order to pool a host of resources to include performers and musicians, sound and lighting production and publicity/promotion.
I for one and many others, who know the organisation I refer to, would like to say a big thank you to them.
