THE Moss­man Bowls Club Mor­ris Shield rep­re­sen­ta­tives played bril­liant bowls on Satur­day with two wins and one loss.

They beat the Her­ber­ton team 24 to 14 in the morn­ing round later de­feated Cook­town 22 to 11 in the af­ter­noon.

The same four play­ers were not as lucky on Sun­day morn­ing when Ather­ton claimed the glory.

Next Sun­day is an­other Su­per Chal­lenge against South Johnston with a 9.00am start.

The team in­cludes Dave Egan for sin­gles, Dave Blain and Bob Day, Mac Pot­ter and Rod Parkes for pairs.

Col Maxted, Nev Tesch and Cal Wills will play threes, Bernie Wol­land, John Sel­lars, Kiwi Beau­mont and Ge­orge Wil­mot will play fours.

This is the last of the Su­per Chal­lenge games and thanks to all play­ers who par­tic­i­pated. So­cial bowls on Satur­day as usual

The ladies played a great game and Mar­ree Cree’s team took the win for the graded triples fi­nal.

So­cial bowls was played on Thurs­day and the win­ners were Jan­ice Brly­ack’s team who won on a count back.

The raf­fle was won by So­nia Ed­wards. The Ladies will be play­ing for hams this week (18th). Chris­tensen on 13.

Kim Ed­wards was too strong on Satur­day in the ladies stroke event win­ning with nett 70 ahead of Peggy Joel on 72. Lyn Heimann won near­est the pin on 6, Glenda Chris­tensen on 8, Trish Landy on 13 and Patti Gra­ham on 17.

Den­nis Blake won the men’s di­vi­sion one with nett 69 ahead of John Deu­ble with 70.

In di­vi­sion two J Mitchell stole the show with a bril­liant nett 62 ahead of Kerry John­stone with nett 65. M Roberts won near­est the pin on 6, Des Landy on 8, Bernie jack on 10 and Brett Jurie on 13.
