Damn bandicoots are bad but helpers great

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FEEDBACK -

REFERRING to the “Damn Bandicoot” article ( Gazette, November 11), I am so happy to report that my son walked away from his accident without any physical harm.

The car is irrepairable, a minor loss once the realisation set in of what happened and how lucky he was.

As there have been a few young accident victims of late, I would like to send a message to all young drivers to drive to road and weather conditions.

This is not the first accident on Newell Beach Rd this year so drive carefully.

Any animal on the road takes a risk of being killed, as we all know, so do not take the risk of losing a life.

I would like to thank Marcus, Mel and Demi for being the first on the scene.

An eternal thank you to the police, ambulance officers, the fire brigade and all of those who stopped to offer assistance.

I would also like to thank RACQ and Top End Paint and Panel.

It is very reassuring living in our community with such dedicated resources
