Last stand for hairy heroes
THEY have gone pound for pound and there is only a whisker in it.
Both the Mo Men for Mossvember and the Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre Vikings have raised more than $4000 each for charity over the past month.
The title of who is the hairiest team of all may be decided at Mojo’s Restaurant on Saturday night at the ultimate men’s poker night as the final fundraiser for the Mo Men.
Team captain Bryce Madgwick has urged his Port Douglas cousins to show their hairy faces in force for the chance to win a prize.
“There will be a prize for the lamest mo and we don’t know who the winner will be yet, but it will be someone from the Port Douglas team,” he said.
“It appears they may be too afraid to show their faces as we haven’t had a lot of bookings from the Port Douglas team yet but I know their brave captain Michael Foley will be there.”
Everyone is invited to come along to the poker night which is only $25 for dinner as well as poker tables, a roulette wheel and blackjack table.
Great prizes have been donated by the Daintree Eco-Lodge and Spa, Hibiscus Resort, Jo-Elz Beauty Salon and Daintree River cruise operators.
For Mo Men keen to groom their face in the lead-up to the big night, Bobbie Quaid of Barber-Q in Mossman is offering free mo trims on Saturday.
To make a booking for the poker night simply call Remi at Mojo’s on 4098 1202 or to make a donation to either local team visit www.movember.com.au and follow the prompts to donate to either Mo Men for Mossvember or the Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre.
