Heavy rain damp­ens com­pe­ti­tion

HEAVY rain­fall on the golf course made the com­pe­ti­tions dif­fi­cult for lo­cal golfers who were forced to play the com­pos­ite course again this week.

In the gloomy and wet weather John White man­aged to shine shoot­ing 43 points to win the Tues­day’s men com­pe­ti­tions ahead of Ge­orge Page on 41 points.

Near­est the pins were Art Howard on 8, Mick Lan­caster on 10 and John Caswell on 17.

Shona Bar­bour showed off her skills scor­ing 41 points to win Thurs­day’s ladies Stable­ford com­pe­ti­tion.

Pris Free­man was sec­ond af­ter a count back and the near­est to the pin went to Gayle Healey on 8.

In the men’s Satur­day com­pe­ti­tion Sy Dol­phin snuck home af­ter a count back for 39 points over Brian De­laney, who was fol­lowed by Mick Lan­caster in third po­si­tion with 38 points.

Near­est the pins were Jeff Bo­chow on 8, Vic Dowler on 10 and Brett Jurie on 17.
