Carnivale kicks off new campaign
THE 2011 Port Douglas Carnivale marketing campaign has received a makeover.
Carnivale organisers yesterday revealed an updated and refreshed design which highlights the success of last year’s mask theme.
Carnivale manager Martine Cotton said excellent feedback from last year prompted organisers to retain the brand elements of “Taste, Watch, Dance, Play”.
“People told us they loved the crazy mask and copy theme,” she said.
“We re-worked the mask and moved away from the reef and dive mask concept to incorporate the rainforest as the second icon of the region.”
The 2011 mask features a green leaf base which is cleverly decorated by a variety of images which define the region’s best qualities. The leaves are studded with glitz and glamour and topped off to capture the food, fun and sense of the Carnivale festival.
“Expect to see the creative popping up everywhere as we start to ramp up the campaign this year,” Ms Cotton said.
