Golfers get a few holes in
GOOD weather towards the end of last week allowed for play at the Mossman Memorial Golf Club, although still restricted to nine holes.
Kerri Williams had a day out on Thursday, winning the monthly medal and taking home nearest the pins on 8 and 10. Kerri won with nett 75 ahead of Gayle Healey on nett 77.
Gayle also won the putting comp with 32 putts.
Saturday’s monthly medals belonged to the Carneys, with John and Shirley taking out the men’s and ladies divisions.
John Carney was the only player to break into the 60s, scoring a nett 68 to win by two shots to Rob Cooke on 70.
Brett Jurie took out A Grade nett with 72, Geoff Goodwin won B Grade with 73 and Joe Wild won C Grade with 72.
Elijah Boon won the A Grade gross with 79, John Petherbridge won B Grade with 90 and John Ziegler won C Grade with 92.
Shirley Carney won the ladies Saturday monthly medal with a nett 74, two shots clear of Leonie Phillips and Bev Cowe on 76.
