Maestro Chefs unveiled

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

THERE were so many great entries in the Gazette/ harrisons Maestro Chef competition, judge Spencer Patrick had to add another dish to the menu.

Saturday night’s gala degustation dinner will now be six courses featuring the culinary expertise of Maestro Chefs Lee Walters (chilled cucumber and yoghurt soup), Pauline Halsall (simply delicious scallops), Christine Garabediam (braised calamari farci), Guy Besley (coconut coral trout), Pip Prichard Barrett (coq au vin) and Adelle Kuehn (passionfruit and lime tropical cheesecake).

Spencer’s tastebuds were so tempted by the offerings he expanded the original five-course menu.

“Once again, the quality of recipes entered was mouth-watering,” he said.

“It was very hard to decide on the winners - it’s a shame any of the entrants had to miss out.

“Last year’s inaugural Maestro Chef degustation dinner was a huge success and a lot of fun and we’re all looking forward to another great night of great food and good company on Saturday.”

The five lucky winners of a double pass to the Maestro Chef dinner were Domenica Sciacca, Lynette Bradford, Gillian Coe, Sharon Gallery and Robert Hanan.
