Mae­stro Chefs un­veiled

THERE were so many great en­tries in the Gazette/ har­risons Mae­stro Chef competition, judge Spencer Pa­trick had to add an­other dish to the menu.

Satur­day night’s gala de­gus­ta­tion din­ner will now be six cour­ses fea­tur­ing the culi­nary ex­per­tise of Mae­stro Chefs Lee Wal­ters (chilled cu­cum­ber and yo­ghurt soup), Pauline Hal­sall (sim­ply de­li­cious scal­lops), Christine Garabe­diam (braised cala­mari farci), Guy Bes­ley (co­conut co­ral trout), Pip Prichard Barrett (coq au vin) and Adelle Kuehn (pas­sion­fruit and lime trop­i­cal cheesecake).

Spencer’s taste­buds were so tempted by the of­fer­ings he ex­panded the orig­i­nal five-course menu.

“Once again, the qual­ity of recipes en­tered was mouth-wa­ter­ing,” he said.

“It was very hard to de­cide on the win­ners - it’s a shame any of the en­trants had to miss out.

“Last year’s in­au­gu­ral Mae­stro Chef de­gus­ta­tion din­ner was a huge suc­cess and a lot of fun and we’re all look­ing for­ward to an­other great night of great food and good com­pany on Satur­day.”

The five lucky win­ners of a dou­ble pass to the Mae­stro Chef din­ner were Domenica Sci­acca, Lynette Brad­ford, Gil­lian Coe, Sharon Gallery and Robert Hanan.
