Big day out for Ki­wis

A FUN day of ac­tiv­i­ties has been or­gan­ised to help our Kiwi neigh­bours re­cover from the earth­quake that rocked Christchurch last month.

The fundraiser, to ben­e­fit the Red Cross Earth­quake Ap­peal, kicks off on Satur­day, March 26, with a break­fast at Ma­rina View be­tween 7.30-11.30am.

Or­gan­iser Jenni Wright plans to stage a net­ball game and a rugby game in­clud­ing the haka in the af­ter­noon be­fore fin­ish­ing off with a char­ity boat race at the Port Dou­glas Yacht Club.

“Port Dou­glas and the sur­round­ing ar­eas are home to many New Zealan­ders and we will unite for Christchurch and col­lect do­na­tions to as­sist the fam­i­lies in need,” Ms Wright said.

The char­ity boat race will be­gin at 5pm and skip­pers need to reg­is­ter by con­tact­ing Henry Cot­ter on 0418 152 253 or dru­jen­mar­ket­ing@live.com.au be­fore March 24.
