Plantation open

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

THE banks have foreclosed on the Gold Coast investor who owned the management rights to Plantation Resort but the bar is still open.

With rumours surfacing about the resort’s imminent closure since the demise of Bale last week, Plantation manager Dave Joyce is glad to set the record straight on the fact it is business as usual.

“We’re still open, the bar is still open, the staff are all here,” he said. “We’re still the best party venue in town, the only place to have a kid’s party.

“We’re not going anywhere for the time being. The banks have appointed a recovery agency, and we’re working for them.

“The rights are up for sale. They have been for seven months. The café is still open and we’re organising a music trivia night for March 30.”

The management rights to at least eight resorts in the region are currently up for sale.
