Solar powered kindy

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

THE Mossman and Port Douglas community kindergartens will be powered by the sun as part of the Bligh Labor Government’s $5.76-million Solar Kindergarten Installation Program.

Cook MP Jason O’Brien said the installation of solar panels would help save the environment and reduce operating costs at the kindergartens.

“The Government’s Solar Kindergartens program is a win-win - the two kindergartens will save money and our children will be attending kindergartens that are more environmentally sustainable," he said.

“As well as reducing the amount of greenhouse gas produced by each kindergarten, these solar panels will help reduce their annual electricity bills by up to $400.”
