Ju­nior Crocs put on brave dis­play

De­spite a gutsy ef­fort the Un­der-16 Crocs were un­able to make up a first quar­ter deficit against Cen­trals even af­ter win­ning the last three quar­ters.

Micheal Mcke­own and Jack Goodall saw plenty of the ball with Cap­tain Max Aldrich lead­ing by ex­am­ple, kick­ing a goal and be­ing named best on ground.

Other goal kick­ers were Josh Har­ris, Amani An­der­son and Jack Goodall. Awards also went to Vice Cap­tain Westy, Micheal Mcke­own and Micheal Edel­berg.

Cen­trals 5-5-47 def Port Dou­glas 4-7-31.

The un­der­manned but not un­der­done Un­der-14 Crocs put in a great ef­fort against Ma­nunda Hawks in very warm and hu­mid con­di­tions.

The Crocs main­tained pres­sure right up to the fi­nal siren but were un­for­tu­nately beaten by a much big­ger side with the dis­tinct ad­van­tage of su­pe­rior num­bers al­low­ing fre­quent ro­ta­tions.

Goalkickers for the Crocs were Quin­lan

Mitchell and Tom Can­non, Bohm Goodall.

Awards for the match were pre­sented to Ethan McCul­lough, Quin­lan Can­non, Louie Gianaia, Jai Phillips and Guy Phong­sun­thorn.

Hawks 9-5-59 def Port Dou­glas 3-2-20.

The Un­der-12 boys started out well and were only one goal down at quar­ter time against Hawks. Billy did a great job at half back and Bray­den was on was on top of his game up for­ward, Ben Muia was all over the ground boot­ing two goals.

Tom was on his game at half back send­ing the ball into the for­ward line on many oc­ca­sions. .Jack and Daniel did a great job in their first game for the Crocs. Awards went to Brett David­son and Daniel and great job by Benny boy kick­ing two.

Hawks 7-4-46 def Port Dou­glas 3-4-22.

The Un­der-10 Crocs played Cen­trals in what was a great game at Cazaly’s.

Con­di­tions were very warm but the boys con­tested the ball hard.

Ryan was un­stop­pable when he had the ball, while Reuben took some great over­head marks and passed the ball out to run­ning play­ers Daniel, Toby and Jack.

Goalkickers were Reuben (2) with Ryan and Leon also kick­ing truly in front of goal.

Awards went to Reuben Al­li­son, Toby Ellison, Ryan Bour­guignon and Jack Har­ring­ton.

The Un­der-8 Crocs played Hawks Gold and for many of the play­ers it was their first time play­ing on the league’s premier oval at Cazaly’s.

It was great to see ev­ery­one shar­ing around in front of the big sticks with goals go­ing to Jessie Bour­guignon, Geneva Gil­bert, Jake Sherwell, Scott Cooper and Rory Nyko.

Player of the match went to pint sized Cameron Nyko for his en­thu­si­asm and great team play. Other award win­ners were Geneva Gil­bert and Scott Cooper.
