Horse centre up for sale

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS - SAM SMALLBONE

THE locally owned and operated Wonga Beach Equestrian Centre is up for grabs.

Owners Sara Croaker and Jason Knack have been operating the business for the last five years, only the third owners since the equestrian centre started 23 years ago.

“The Wonga Beach horse ride is something remarkable because it is riding between two natural wonders of the world, it’s a great way for people to experience the rainforest and the beach overlooking the reef,” Ms Croaker said.

“I think we will miss it, the horses and the dynamics of it but it is time to move on to new challenges.”

The 14ha property incorporates a three-bedroom workers’ accommodation, various sheds, a stable, machinery storage, tack room and hitching area.

The business offers two-anda-half hour horse rides in the morning and afternoon along the Wonga Beach.

They currently operate 24 horses, a mixture of quarter horses, Australian stock horses and unraced thoroughbreds.

Mike Robert, of BizBrokers, said the business was generating a lot of interest from around Australia due to its appealing lifestyle and unique qualities and potential..
