THE Port Douglas Junior Crocs were definitely on the attack this weekend against Centrals.
It seems that the Under 8’s were in a goal kicking frenzy with the little tackers kicking an unbelievable 12 goals in their match.
The boys played with great ball control and strong defence where every player had a great game and goals were shared around with seven players.
Goal kickers were Scott Cooper 3, Jake Sherwell 3, Geneva Gilbert 2 and 1 goal each to Jesse Bourguignon, Harry Walker, Ethan Bakker and Jai L’Estrange.
Jai L’Estrange also won player of the day medallion for his great team play and accuracy in front of the goal.
Macca’s awards went to Ethan Bakker and Jake Sherwell. Cam Nyko was amongst the award winners again this week picking up the Foodworks improvement award.
The Under 10’s players were showing skills beyond their years against the Saints at Trinity Beach on Sunday.
The goals were shared around with Ryan 3, Reuben 2 and 1 from Daniel, Toby and Leon. Awards went to Daniel Davidson, Tyson Lynch and Rory Nyko.
The Under 12’s got off to a great start with Brayden and Hugo dominating in the ruck giving the Crocs first use of the ball out of the centre.
Daniel Davidson played one of his best games and kicked what could be the goal of the year.
The Port Douglas Crocs won with a score 5-7-37 against Centrals Red on 3-3-21 with awards going to Billy, Charlie, Jye and Daniel Davidson.
The Under 14’s saw another win last Sunday against a strong Bulldogs squad due to their great communication on the field.
Goal kickers were Quinlan Cannon, Mitchell Bohm and Jarrah Wren who kicked his first ever goal in AFL.
Quinlan Cannon scooped up the Beach Shack Award and Brady Stewart won the Port Pantry Award.
Other award recipients were Mitchell Bohm, Thomas Radcliffe and Keegan Grogan.
This Sunday will be the first home game for 2011.
