Bowls c’ships be­gin

LADIES bowlers worked up a sweat com­pet­ing in the cham­pion fours in per­fect weather at the Moss­man Bowls Club last week.

Ladies bowls were all com­pet­ing for the tro­phy with Jan Gard’s team de­feat­ing the Petrus team.

The Gard team will now play Kay McDon­ald’s team for the tro­phy on March 31.

Maree Cree’s team won the so­cial game and Joan Day was the raf­fle win­ner.

The num­bers were up for the men’s bowls this week as they played fours with a jack­pot of $350 plus meat trays up for grabs.

The competition was hot and win­ners of the day on a count back were Max Col­sted’s team of Peer Janssen, Col An­dressen and Dave ’Wiki’ Beau­mont.

Run­ners up were the Ted Pitt skipped team of Sam Parkes, Colt Pitt and Al Cooper.

Cham­pi­onship games will kick off next week­end Satur­day April 2 and Sun­day April 3.

Satur­day’s game for the men’s fours in­clude Brly­ack, Day, Cooper and Radlof verses Blain, Cleary, Valen­tine and Chat­ter­ton.

In the pairs it is Gir­genti and Beau­mont ver­sus Pisot and Gard.

Sun­day’s game will start at 9.30am for A-Grade sin­gles and will in­clude Con­roy ver­sus Hock­ing, An­dreessen ver­sus Pitt Janssen ver­sus Gard and Pisot ver­sus Blain. Play, sub or for­feit.

Play­ers se­lected for pen­nants from the A-Grade are Mis­son, Egan, Cleary, Wills, Parkes, Blain, Banks and Tesch. B Grade - Maxted, Beau­mont, An­dressen, Janssen, Day, Ash­ford, Bolton and Wil­mot.
