Blue Light re­cov­ery party

The Moss­man and Port Dou­glas Blue Light As­so­ci­a­tion trav­elled to Card­well last week to hold a Cy­clone Re­cov­ery Disco for the chil­dren who were af­fected by Cy­clone Yasi. More than 170 chil­dren from Card­well, Kennedy and Tully at­tended the disco at the Card­well Com­mu­nity Hall and en­joyed a range of fun ac­tiv­i­ties. Chil­dren be­tween the age of five and 18 were able to en­joy a jump­ing cas­tle, Xbox ma­chines, disco dancing, and in­ter­ac­tive games and were given the chance to win a range of prizes. The event was free thanks to the help of lo­cal spon­sors. The as­so­ci­a­tion is seek­ing com­mu­nity groups to vol­un­teer or make do­na­tions for the next disco event to be held on Fri­day May 27 at the Port Dou­glas Com­mu­nity Hall.
