ZUMBA, step and pump lovers can work up a sweat at Lou’s Fitness gym which opens in Craiglie tomorrow.

The new gym is designed for fitness classes with large mirrors, airconditioning, a café, a lounge, surround sound music and even an outdoor play area for the kids.

Owner and manager Louise Pidgeon is thrilled to have fulfilled her lifelong dream of operating her own fitness gym in the Douglas region.

“I’ve been teaching fitness classes for over 18 years now and I have always wanted to operate my own place,” she said.

“There are not a lot of places that offer fitness classes so I really wanted to provide an area where people can come and exercise outside of the gym environment, away from the weights, where they can have some fun.”

The gym will offer 20 classes a week including step, pump and Zumba and will also offer Zumba classes for children aged between six and 12 years.

“The gym is also available to people who want to just stop by for a coffee or a chat,” she said.

“There is a nice lounge area and coffee shop for mothers to meet at while the children play on the outdoor playground.”

Lou’s Fitness opens on Friday between 6.30pm and 8.30pm and is located at 53 Owen St, Craiglie.
