No revolt, just revulsion

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FEEDBACK -

THERE is no revolt or a misinformed vocal minority trying to derail the Port Douglas Waterfront master plan.

In fact the opposite is closer to the truth, whereas the so-called revolutionaries are trying to get the award-winning master plan back on track.

It is the Cairns Regional Council which has become sidetracked in a panic grab for available Federal Government finance recently announced by Regional Development Minister Simon Crean.

The master plan came together over a number of years through consistent hard work and dedication by all involved.

The team consisted of a project advisory group made up of 26 local organisations, associations, indigenous representation and business leaders, including the developers.

This team was chaired by URBIS design along with the council and government department representatives.
