IN­TE­RIOR de­signer and dec­o­ra­tor Uta Pren­tice can transform an old, run­down room into a stylish and con­tem­po­rary work of art sim­ply by look­ing at a piece of fab­ric. The in­spi­ra­tional de­signer cre­ated Port Dou­glas In­te­ri­ors 19 years ago and has been liv­ing in the Dou­glas re­gion for al­most 20 years. Uta works with a com­mer­cial res­i­den­tial in­te­rior de­signer Tim El­lis and as­sis­tant Kim Meas­day to pro­vide pro­fes­sional ad­vice on in­te­rior con­struc­tion, ma­te­ri­als and fur­nish­ings in lo­cal homes, boats and re­sorts. The eye-catch­ing prod­ucts shown in the dis­play room is just a snip­pet of what the team is ca­pa­ble of. They work to­gether to co-cre­ate an en­vi­ron­ment that re­flects your in­di­vid­ual style, as well as align­ing the func­tion­al­ity of your home and your unique ap­proach to liv­ing. “Our aim on any pro­ject is to cre­ate spaces em­u­late de­sign ex­cel­lence through func­tional, in­no­va­tive and cost-con­scious de­sign so­lu­tions,” Uta said. They sup­ply the prod­ucts to com­pletely ren­o­vate a home in­clud­ing bed­rooms, bath­rooms, kitchens, re­sorts, apart­ments and even boats.
