Khanacross has two big weekends
MOSSMAN will host two big weekends of motor sport this month featuring competitions for riders of all ages and levels of experience.
This Sunday, August 7, the Douglas Shire Motor Sports Association will hold a combined khanacross and junior motorkhana which kicks off at 8.30am.
Competitors of all ages will be lining up the Reef and Rainforest Track at North Mossman to take part.
Juniors can compete in the Motorkhana from age 12 and in the khanacross from 14.
DSMSA president Bob Errey said new members were welcome.
“No experience is necessary and the club has instructors on hand to help with novice drivers,” he said.
“This is a safe and controlled environment for teenagers to learn to drive and to learn car control skills.”
The following weekend the association is hosting round three of the NQ Khanacross Series.
Drivers from as far south as Mackay will be racing, providing an opportunity for local drivers to showcase their skills on their home track against the southern competitors.
The two day event starts at 10.00am on Saturday and 8.30am on Sunday.
