Tourism Talk

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - TOURISM TALK -

With our statistics showing 49 per cent of bookings are made through travel agents and online travel sites, this continues to be an important part of our marketing strategy.

This was backed up with our agent campaign which was very successful.

The annual “Conversations with TQ” forum will be held on September 1 in Port Douglas.

Content on the day will include 2011/12 strategic direction presented by CEO Anthony Hayes.

There will also be two key panel discussions with a focus on international markets, incentives and access and global marketing, media and the digital direction.

This forum is an ideal opportunity for the TQ team to hear directly from the Port Douglas Daintree operators and will be an interactive and conversational forum.

This week I am attending the Australian Regional Tourism Convention in Townsville and look forward to discussions with Andrew Hayes, CEO of Tourism Queensland, Daniel Gschwind, CEO of the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) and Felicia Mariani from the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC).

It will also provide an opportunity to catch up with Tourism Australia, Tourism Research Australia (TRA), the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse and many more industry leaders.

Enjoy the weather.
