Fit­ness fo­cus work­shop for se­niors

DOU­GLAS re­tirees and baby boomers are able to get ex­er­cise-regimes specif­i­cally tai­lored to suit their life­styles as part of a free work­shop.

The Bligh Gov­ern­ment is hold­ing a ’Phys­i­cal Ac­tiv­ity for Older Adults’ work­shop next Tues­day to teach par­tic­i­pants the ben­e­fits of phys­i­cal ac­tiv­ity.

The work­shop will fo­cus on ex­er­cises de­signed to suit their life­styles and will help re­duce the ef­fects of age­ing.

The state gov­ern­ment aims to re­duce obe­sity lev­els in Queens­land by one third in 2020 by en­cour­ag­ing Queens­lan­ders to lead more ac­tive life­styles, re­gard­less of age.

The ’Phys­i­cal Ac­tiv­ity for Older Adults’ work­shop will be held at the Port Dou­glas Spores Cen­tre next Tues­day Au­gust 16 be­tween 10am-1pm, light re­fresh­ments will be served and book­ings are es­sen­tial.
