Farewell for Davo
“HERO of the homeless” David “Davo” McVey will be farewelled at a funeral in Mossman tomorrow.
Davo dedicated his life to helping out the homeless in Mossman, digging into his own meagre pockets to feed, clothe and transport them.
He also established “Somewhere to Run”, an abandoned government property north of the Daintree River accessible only by boat which Davo ran by himself as a halfway house to help the homeless beat alcohol and drug addiction.
Davo passed away earlier this month after a long battle with cancer and his life will be celebrated at his funeral at the Mossman Gorge church from 9.30am tomorrow.
The details of his wake will be revealed at the funeral and everyone is welcome to attend.
