Whale of day for fishermen

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

“The whales swam up on the other side as if to say hello and were so close you could see the barnacles on them and all the scars on their bodies,” Walter said.

After having a look at Walter and his friend on the boat, the whales turned around and left.

“They swam back and forth a couple of times and then they swam away, he had his tale up and she had a fin up as if to wave goodbye,” Walter said.

“We always see dolphins, flying fish, snakes and turtles when we go out fishing, but never whales.

“We didn’t catch much fish that day.”
