Keep music restrictions

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FEEDBACK -

IN regards to article ‘Let us play: Musos’, we are not in support of any changes to music restrictions. I am sure no owners or managers of complexes and houses in and around Macrossan St would agree with changing the music restrictions.

Guests complain now and leave early due to the loud music coming from the hotels. We may as well close the doors if restrictions are lifted as we would not have any guests in house.

With tourism down in recent years we do not feel this is fair for owners and managers if the noise restrictions are lifted just when tourists are beginning to return.

If there is a need for noise restrictions to be lifted have it in an area where no one’s holiday is ruined by sleepless nights.

We are not against live music as we enjoy listening to it ourselves. We just do not see the need to have the volume turned up to enjoy.
