HALLOWEEN is creeping up on us again and to celebrate, this year’s Haunting of Oak Beach promises to be bigger, better and scarier. The haunting, to be staged on October 29, has been relocated to a 2.5-acre block at Oak Beach and will include pirates, witches, a spider cookie lady, gypsy fortune teller and a new fairy land for the younger crowd. Haunting organiser, known only as the Demonised Ghoul, created the fairyland for the younger children to have a fright without getting too scared.

“Fairyland - we did this for the little kids because this year I wanted to do something special for the kids, I have made papier-mache monsters, they are a little cute and a little scary,” the Demonised Ghoul said.

For those who can handle scary, the Demonised Ghoul also has a chamber of horrors, a massive maze, a haunted graveyard and a pirates cave.

“There will be an eerie cave and they can walk in a circle all the way around a dam with different things going on,” the Demonised Ghoul said.

“At haunted mansion, they enter into the mansion and they will choose which door to go through, one door will have written on it ’scary’ and the other door, ’very scary’.”

Last year the location was smaller and there was a wait on the front entrance, but this year the Demonised Ghoul has addressed this problem with the larger block.

“What we took on from our first experience is people don’t want to wait in line so this year everyone gets to come in all at once, and it will cost $5 per person to cover costs,” the Demonised Ghoul said.

The Haunting of Oak Beach will be on October 29 from 6pm-9pm.
