Bronze in judo ti­tles

CO­RAL Coast Judo Club’s first de­gree black belt mem­ber Se­bas­tion Te­mezi from Moss­man com­peted at the Vic­to­rian In­ter­na­tional Open Judo Cham­pi­onships in Mel­bourne last week­end.

After clean­ing up the op­po­si­tion in the un­der 90kg and the open weight di­vi­sion at the Tableland Open a week ago, Se­bas­tion was con­fi­dent head­ing into VIOC.

His only loss in Mel­bourne was a con­tro­ver­sial dis­qual­i­fi­ca­tion against Aus­tralian Olympian and world ranked ath­lete Mark An­thony from Vic­to­ria, who was the even­tual win­ner of the Un­der 90kg di­vi­sion they both con­tested, leav­ing Se­bas­tion to claim the bronze medal.

Un­der­stand­ably Se­bas­tion was dis­ap­pointed with the re­sult but he is con­fi­dent of turn­ing the ta­bles at the next In­ter­na­tional event to be held in Sydney in a few weeks time.

Both coaches are ex­tremely con­fi­dent he will learn and con­tinue to grow as he marches to­wards his goal of com­pet­ing at the 2016 Olympic Games.
