Bronze in judo titles
CORAL Coast Judo Club’s first degree black belt member Sebastion Temezi from Mossman competed at the Victorian International Open Judo Championships in Melbourne last weekend.
After cleaning up the opposition in the under 90kg and the open weight division at the Tableland Open a week ago, Sebastion was confident heading into VIOC.
His only loss in Melbourne was a controversial disqualification against Australian Olympian and world ranked athlete Mark Anthony from Victoria, who was the eventual winner of the Under 90kg division they both contested, leaving Sebastion to claim the bronze medal.
Understandably Sebastion was disappointed with the result but he is confident of turning the tables at the next International event to be held in Sydney in a few weeks time.
Club coaches, John and George Brendecke, both former Australian representatives, are impressed with their young gun’s ability
Both coaches are extremely confident he will learn and continue to grow as he marches towards his goal of competing at the 2016 Olympic Games.
