Commonwealth biggest Legacy raiser
THE Port Douglas branch of the Commonwealth Bank was the highest fundraising branch in Australia for Legacy.
The local branch raised more than $1000 during Legacy Week, with the bank raising more than $60,000 Australia-wide selling Legacy badges.
Far North Queensland area manager Scott Spittles said it was a great achievement by the Port Douglas community.
“The contribution made by the people of Port Douglas truly demonstrates the spirit and compassion of the local community,” he said.
Legacy is dedicated to the welfare of widows and dependents of our Australian Defence Force personnel killed in wars, peacekeeping or hazardous service, or who have died subsequently.
