ROMANCE will be on the cards when Aussie favourite films in Port Douglas later this month.
The top-rating soapie is due to start filming in Port Douglas on October 18 and will be beamed to more than 10 million viewers around the world next February.
Tourism Port Douglas Daintree executive officer Doug Ryan said the timing couldn’t be better.
“Just as the UK and Northern Europe enters the depths of winter,
will project vibrant reef scenes, stunning rainforests and the iconic charm of the tropics right into their lounge rooms,” he said.
The breakaway story takes popular Kate Ramsay on a laidback escape holiday to North Queensland hotly pursued by her on-screen uncle Paul Robinson.
Add a little romance with a local marine biologist, played by Lincoln Lewis, and the scene is set for a great showcase of the Far North.
The Queensland episodes will be broadcast in Australia over several weeks beginning on February 6 as part of the prime launch of the 2012 ratings year.
For the UK audience, the episodes will screen from February 27.
The episodes will showcase Macrossan St, the marina and the Great Barrier Reef.
