School broken into ... again

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

PORT Douglas State School has been broken into three times this past month with several rooms trashed and vandalised.

During all three incidents, classrooms were vandalised, paper and stationary strewn across the rooms, glue pots emptied and small amounts of cash stolen.

Port Douglas Senior Constable Alan Dempsey said police suspect the offenders are juveniles and is appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

“This mindless damage caused within the classrooms impacts the students, someone out there must have heard something or know who is responsible,” he said.

“Police will be carrying out high profile patrols of the school.”

Police are calling on anyone with information on the incidents that have occurred between September 2-5, sometime in the first week of school holidays September 16-23 and again between September 23-27.

If you have any information contact the Port Douglas police on 4087 1999 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
