MEN’S Pen­nants kicks off this week with the boys trav­el­ling to Ather­ton on Sun­day to take on the South­ern Districts side.

Ear­lier last week the Tues­day men played a par event.

Si­mon Nel­son won with +6 af­ter a count­back to R White.

John Cameron was third with +5. Near­est-the-pins were won by Mal Phillips on 6, Wayne Dow­ell on 8, Peter Lewis on 10, Leon Baker on 13 and Ge­orge Humphries on 17.

Peter Ti­tus-Rees won the nine-hole sporters com­pe­ti­tion last week with 23 points af­ter a count­back to Jeff Bo­chow.

Adam Ferguson was third with 22 points. Near­est-the-pins went to He­len Gabour on 6 and Bev Cowe on 8.

The Thurs­day ladies played a Sta­ble­ford com­pe­ti­tion last week which was won by Ellen Clark with 41 points.

Lyn Heimann fin­ished in sec­ond place with 39 points and Kerri Wil­liams was third with 38 points.

Ellen won near­est the pins on 6 and 10, Shirley Car­ney on 8 and Wendy Mead on 13.

It was monthly medal time over the week­end as we snuck into Oc­to­ber.

Wayne Dow­ell was the best of the men with a net 66 to win by four shots to John Pether­bridge. Char­lie Kadic won the A Grade gross, Wayne Dow­ell won B Grade and Joe Wild won C Grade.

Ian Prewett won the A Grade net with 73, Pether­bridge won B Grade with 70 and Bill Al­li­son won C Grade with 71.

Near­est-the-pins were Kym Row­ley on 6, 10 and 17, John Pether­bridge on 8 and Ricky White on 13.

Shona Bar­bour won the ladies’ monthly medal with net 72 af­ter a count back to Kym Edwards and Lyn Heimann.

A Lovell won near­est-the-pin on 6, Glenda Chris­tensen on 8, Tr­ish Landy on 10, Shona Bar­bour on 13 and Heather Atkins on 17.
