Last Little Athletics run for season
THE Douglas Little Athletics Club held their last club day for this season last week.
The two-week break for the holidays helped some of our members to produce some amazing results, while for others it was a bit of a wind down.
Congratulations to Melissa Callander who set a new high jump record for the club for the Under 9 years with her jump of one metre.
Some of the best performances that were recorded last week were from Jade Schuck with three Personal Best performances including 19.92m for Javelin.
Unity Beitzel had three PBs in the Under 10 years (100m, 400m, and shot put).
Jordon Scott gave personal best performances for four of the five events she competed in (100m, long jump, high jump, and shot put).
Beau Paulke had two PBs for the Under 6 years group (70m and discus).
Trinity Beitzel and Lina White both had PBs for the Under 7 years -Trinity in the 70m and discus Lina in the shot put.
The Under 8 years group had three members achieve PBs for high jump - Rhakaine Bowen, William Curley and Brodie Francis, while Fletcher Beitzel had a PB with his 200m sprint.
Tejay Setters also competed well and Lafe Hatfield did his best high jump for the season in the Under 9 year’s group.
Vincent Killeen had a personal best performance for long jump and Kerrin Brennan competed well in five events.
The Under11-year group had three members put in personal best performances for discus - Dhareese Bowen, Finn Stanaway and Jasmine Booth.
Wyatt Tooth had PBs for 800m and triple jump.
Joshua Bellero had personal best performances in the 800m and triple jump for the Under 12-year group and Nicky Samson for shot put and Krystal Schultz for discus.
Karl Hinz, Conrad Hinz and Xavian Pitt all competed, while Braydon Wall was away injured.
Elle Kadwell for achieving PBs in long jump and high jump in the Under 13 years.
The 2011 season has been a big success for our club and our members have benefited from all the time that parents and friends have freely given to the club.
Our break-up presentation and AGM is on Saturday, October 22, at 9am. We welcome all members, families and members of the public to this final event for the season.
The development of children in the Douglas area is vital and your support is needed.
