Clas­sic Fours up for grabs

A STRONG con­tin­gent of lo­cal play­ers will take to the greens in the Moss­man Bowls Club’s premier event this week­end.

The Moss­man Clas­sic Fours has at­tracted play­ers from as far away as Ing­ham to com­pete for al­most $7000 in prize­money.

The Moss­man club will be rep­re­sented in nine of the 16 teams, which will con­test the tour­na­ment over two days.

Moss­man bowlers are in good form head­ing into the tour­na­ment af­ter the club’s gun bowlers de­feated Mar­lin Coast in the Su­per Chal­lenge se­ries at the Moss­man Bowls Club last Fri­day.

The lo­cal team de­feated its more fan­cied op­po­nents 122-94 with wins to Dave Egan in the sin­gles, Rod Parkes and Col Maxted in one pairs game and Joe Hock­ing, Peter Cleary and John Sel­lars in the triples.
