Top results for little athletes
CONGRATULATIONS to all 10 members of the Douglas Shire Little Athletics club who competed in the 2011 Regional Championships in Cairns. They all competed well and represented our club with pride.
A personal best performance went to Joshua Bellero for all six events that he competed in, resulting in a first for the 800m, second for the 1500m, and two thirds in the 400m and javelin.
Xavian Pitt also competing in the 11 years, had four PBs and gained a second in the javelin and two thirds in the long jump and triple jump.
Competing in the six years age group, Trinity Beitzel, came first in the 200m, second in the 100m, and third for both 70m and discus throwing.
Fletcher Beitzel had PBs for the 70m, 100m and 200m in the seven years age group.
Lafe Hatfield came first in the 70m and the 100m for the eight years boys with a total of four personal best performances.
Competing in the eight years girls Melissa Callander came first in the high jump and had four PBs.
Kerrin Brennan competed well in the nine years girls with three personal best performances and Unity Beitzel also had three PBs gaining a third in the high jump.
Gaining a first in the high jump for boys under 11 years was Dhareese Bowen who also performed at his personal best for 100m and long jump.
Emily Callander grabbed two seconds in the 400m and high jump and five thirds for 100m, 200m, long jump, triple jump, and shot put.
