Top re­sults for lit­tle ath­letes

CONGRATULATIONS to all 10 mem­bers of the Dou­glas Shire Lit­tle Ath­let­ics club who com­peted in the 2011 Re­gional Cham­pi­onships in Cairns. They all com­peted well and rep­re­sented our club with pride.

A per­sonal best per­for­mance went to Joshua Bellero for all six events that he com­peted in, re­sult­ing in a first for the 800m, sec­ond for the 1500m, and two thirds in the 400m and javelin.

Xa­vian Pitt also com­pet­ing in the 11 years, had four PBs and gained a sec­ond in the javelin and two thirds in the long jump and triple jump.

Com­pet­ing in the six years age group, Trinity Beitzel, came first in the 200m, sec­ond in the 100m, and third for both 70m and dis­cus throw­ing.

Fletcher Beitzel had PBs for the 70m, 100m and 200m in the seven years age group.

Lafe Hat­field came first in the 70m and the 100m for the eight years boys with a to­tal of four per­sonal best per­for­mances.

Com­pet­ing in the eight years girls Melissa Cal­lan­der came first in the high jump and had four PBs.

Ker­rin Bren­nan com­peted well in the nine years girls with three per­sonal best per­for­mances and Unity Beitzel also had three PBs gain­ing a third in the high jump.

Gain­ing a first in the high jump for boys un­der 11 years was Dha­reese Bowen who also per­formed at his per­sonal best for 100m and long jump.

Emily Cal­lan­der grabbed two sec­onds in the 400m and high jump and five thirds for 100m, 200m, long jump, triple jump, and shot put.
