Moss­man sta­ble­ford a thriller

THE Tues­day men played a sta­ble­ford com­pe­ti­tion at the Moss­man Golf Club last week which was won by John Caswell with 43 points ahead of Rus Watkins on 41.

Barry Brims was third with 39. Near­est the pins were Ed Sant on 6, Jock O’kane on 8, Steve War­den on 10, Si­mon Nel­son on 13 and Dave Nes­bitt on 17.

Ge­off Good­win won the nine hole sporters on Wed­nes­day with 24 points around the front nine. Barry Costain was sec­ond with 23 points and Dennis Blake was third with 22 points. Bill Heath won near­est the pin on 6 and Costain won 8.

The Thurs­day ladies was washed out but the ladies got their chance on Satur­day as the weather cleared. Tr­ish Landy took out the Monthly medal with nett 73 af­ter a count back to Julie Hooker. Shona Bar­bour won near­est the pin on 8, Glenda Chris­tensen won 10 and Lyn Heimann won 13.

Wayne Bax­ter took out the men’s Monthly medal with nett 66 on Satur­day four shots clear of sec­ond placed Bill Al­li­son on nett 70. Brett Jurie won the A Grade gross, Mal Phillips won B Grade and Mau­rice Meth won C Grade.

Ralf Midell won the A Grade nett, Ge­off Good­win won B Grade and Rick Weimar won C Grade. Near­est the pins were John Nor­ris on 6, John Pether­bridge on 8, L Gib­son on 10 and Ge­off Good­win on 13.

Art Howard won Sun­day’s sta­ble­ford com­pe­ti­tion with 36 points af­ter a count back to John Cameron. John won near­est the pin on 13.
