LA puts his work up for show

SUR­RE­AL­IST in style, lo­cal Lach­lan Alexan­der “Lachie” Pearce will be cel­e­brat­ing the open­ing of his ex­hi­bi­tion called Rev­e­la­tions to­mor­row night.

Known as Lachie with his pop­u­lar band Green Doubt, when cre­at­ing art, he is Lach­lan Alexan­der or LA and his sur­re­al­ist art­work is in­spired by aspects of life, cul­ture and the environment.

LA aims to show that art can still serve a spe­cial in­tel­lec­tual and spir­i­tual role in so­ci­ety to­day.

The ex­hi­bi­tion Rev­e­la­tion aims to share LA’S vi­sion of the emerg­ing cul­ture and has glimpses of uni­ver­sal truths and takes from the trop­i­cal land­scapes of the re­gion.

His art­work re­flects so­cial is­sues in­clud­ing en­vi­ron­men­tal loss and so­cial play and uses sym­bols of the past and the fu­ture to rep­re­sent themes of change.

LA stud­ied mul­ti­me­dia and fine arts in Bris­bane be­fore re­turn­ing to the Dou­glas re­gion to live.

The ex­hi­bi­tion will be held at Sue Nightin­gale stu­dio for a lim­ited time at the Ma­rina Mi­rage and opens to­mor­row night from 5pm-8pm.
