LA puts his work up for show
SURREALIST in style, local Lachlan Alexander “Lachie” Pearce will be celebrating the opening of his exhibition called Revelations tomorrow night.
Known as Lachie with his popular band Green Doubt, when creating art, he is Lachlan Alexander or LA and his surrealist artwork is inspired by aspects of life, culture and the environment.
LA aims to show that art can still serve a special intellectual and spiritual role in society today.
The exhibition Revelation aims to share LA’S vision of the emerging culture and has glimpses of universal truths and takes from the tropical landscapes of the region.
His artwork reflects social issues including environmental loss and social play and uses symbols of the past and the future to represent themes of change.
LA studied multimedia and fine arts in Brisbane before returning to the Douglas region to live.
The exhibition will be held at Sue Nightingale studio for a limited time at the Marina Mirage and opens tomorrow night from 5pm-8pm.
