Caswell comes up trumps

A SEC­OND win was carded by John Caswell in just three weeks af­ter win­ning the Tues­day men’s monthly medal with net 65 at the Moss­man Golf Club.

Peter San­tarossa fin­ished sec­ond with net 66 and Greg Walker was third with 69. Near­est-the-pins were Rick Her­schell on 6, John Car­ney on 8 and Peter Lewis on 17.

Lucy Giles won the Wed­nes­day com­pe­ti­tion with 24 points around the back nine. Dennis Blake was sec­ond with 23 and Les Done­hue was third with 22. Bev Cowe and Brett Jurie won the near­est-the-pins on 13 and 17.

On Thurs­day, the ladies played their Medal of medal. Ellen Clark won the yearly medal with net 75. He­len Gabour also had a mem­o­rable day with a net 68 to win the daily com­pe­ti­tion af­ter a count-back to Kiara Lo­mas. He­len won near­est-the-pin on 10 while Kiara won 6, 8 and 17.

John Nor­ris scored 41 points on Satur­day to win the Men’s Sta­ble­ford com­pe­ti­tion ahead of Peter Clark and John Ziegler on 40 points. Ralf Mid­del won near­est-the-pin on 6, John Ziegler on 8, Ian Ste­ley on 10, Mau­rice Meth on 13 and Des White­ley on 17.

Tr­ish Mid­del won the Ladies’ com­pe­ti­tion with 36 points and three shots clear of Kerri Wil­liams and Glenda Chris­tensen on 33 points. Tr­ish Landy won near­est-the-pin on 6 and Pris Free­man won 17.

This Satur­day is the club’s end of year break-up day. If you’re not al­ready marked down, get a team of four to­gether for the Four Ball Am­brose fun day.
