Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

LOCAL artist Davvyd Brown will appear on Australia’s Got Talent in February after being spotted by a Channel 7 talent scout who was holidaying in Port Douglas.

Davvyd will perform a Rolf Harris-style of painting where he will only be given a couple of minutes to draw a picture before the judges and the live audience give their verdict.

“The show is flying me to the Gold Coast in February and then I will be filmed live on the show and if the judges give me the ’thumbs up’ I’ll move on to the next heat, if not - I’ll be out,” Brown said.

Davvyd has also been busy creating designs for artist and writer Ro London for her new collection of beautifully printed clothing with much of the proceeds being donated to help endangered animals.

He said he will also feature some of these designs when he appears on Australia’s Got Talent.

Ms London has recently completed her new Paradisa collection which is an exquisite tome about the endangered big bird species of the world.

“I am a passionate person and passionate about caring for our animals - we have to,” Ms London said.

As a textile designer, Ms London creates her stunning artwork pieces on silks with bright dazzling colours and big, bold pictures of the world’s endangered animals and birds by turning them into scarves, caftans and sarongs.

The collection is now in China being printed on a number of fabrics, including silk, silk chiffon, cotton, satin and bamboo.
