Faulty trailer light causes pile-up

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

TWO vehicles, one faulty-trailer and a motorbike collided on Captain Cook Highway near Pretty Beach at 10.20am last Friday. A vehicle and trailer heading north stopped on the highway to turn right into Pretty Beach but the taillights were not working on the trailer and the second vehicle hit it. The collision pushed the first car on to the other side of the road where it collided with a south-bound motorbike heading home to Smithfield. The vehicles all received moderate damage and police issued fines to the first car for towing an unregistered trailer and towing a defective vehicle and the second car got a tailgating fine.
