MOSSMAN COMPUTING JUSTIN AND MICHELLE VAN DYK

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - BUSINESS -

AFTER from home for the past six years, Justin and Michelle Van Dyk decided to expand their business and opened Mossman Computing. The move allowed them to expand their business and into retail, selling desktops and laptops and also offer an internet kiosk for people to access computers connected to the internet.

“came in to work with the Wendy with Business Initiative Group and what started as an offifice corporation has grown bigger than expected and we have managed to take over many printing services,” Justin said.

“It’s been quite an exciting move for us and we seem to be changing and adding more each week, are noticing it and commenting.

“We do computer repairs and upgrades and because we have stock on-site, the turnaround is quick - we it straight back saving people a trip down to Cairns.

“There seems to be a lot of people saying to us, especially with the printing services, they’d usually have to go to Cairns to get that done.”

The Van Dyks were lucky enough to ease into establishing their small business and moving into a shop which used to be a computer shop - there was already “foot traffific through the door”.

And to top it all off, Mossman Computing won the best customer service award in the Cairns region last year, which has helped promote business further.

“That was a big help for us and now with the shop, 2012 is going to be a big year for us,” Justin said.
