VET­ERAN bowler and all-round good guy Lloyd Valen­tine was pre­sented with his Vet­eran’s Badge by the men’s pres­i­dent David Egan for his com­mit­ment to the club and the game on Satur­day.

Af­ter the pre­sen­ta­tion an­other mem­o­rable af­ter­noon of com­pe­ti­tion was thor­oughly en­joyed by all the play­ers with an­other good turnout for jack­pot bowls.

And the win­ners are the grinners and they were C An­dreassen, T Pitt and D Blain de­feated Rangie, Zilly and B Gard 25-23. T Brack, S Jel­lis and R Parkes de­feated B Barabas, Kiwi and C Dwyer 22-15. Morry, C Wills and R Pat­ter­son de­feated T Gray, T Pisot and J Hock­ing 24-18. S Ren­ton, G Wilmot and C Maxted de­feated K Pitt, Dick Pitt and P Cleary 25-15. J Maxwell, T Bry­lack and Doug Pitt de­feated J Hock­ing Jnr, G Marsh and J Girgenti 28-18.

L Valen­tine, P Jansen and D Egan racked up an im­pres­sive score against S Chat­ter­ton, S Parkes and N Tesch 41-10.

Bowlers will farewell club stal­wart and A-grade cham­pion Rod Parkes on Satur­day and all bowlers are in­vited to send him out in style.

“It’s un­for­tu­nate I have to leave but I’ve cer­tainly en­joyed it and the club is in good hands,” he said.

In ladies bowls news, 10 brave ladies bowled on Thurs­day and the win­ners were Robyn Petrus, Mar­garet Cooper and Ca­role Maxted with +15 de­feated Denise High­land, Val Robin­son and Dot Kostyrka (+12).

Mau­reen Tucker, Glenys Sharp (+14) de­feated Bar­bara May and Betty Mc­clel­land (+10). The ex­cited raf­fle win­ner was Denise High­land and the play­ing se­lec­tors for Jan­uary are Kaye Dean and Denise High­land.
